Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These terms explain the rules for using Y2mate, the free tool for saving YouTube videos as MP4 and audio as MP3. We have kept them short and in plain words, so please take a few minutes to read them.

Accepting These Terms

By opening or using Y2mate, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.

You should be old enough to enter an agreement where you live, or have a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you.

What the Service Does

Y2mate lets you paste a YouTube link and see the video's title, length and the qualities you can choose from. Video is offered as MP4 from 144p up to 1080p, each with sound, and audio is offered as MP3 from 64 to 320 kbps.

When you tap a quality, the file opens in a new browser tab, coming straight from YouTube's own video servers. We do not host, copy or store the files. Video details are looked up live for each visit and are not saved.

Personal, Non-Commercial Use

Y2mate is free and meant for personal use, such as keeping a video you have the right to save for offline viewing or listening. You may not use the site, or anything you get through it, as part of a paid product or business service.

Copyright and Your Responsibility

You alone are responsible for what you choose to download. Only save content that you are allowed to save, and keep using YouTube in line with its own terms of service and the laws of your country.

Content you may usually save includes:

  • Videos you made and uploaded yourself
  • Works in the public domain
  • Videos released under a licence that allows downloading, such as some Creative Commons licences
  • Videos whose owner has given you permission to save them

Things You Must Not Do

To keep Y2mate working for everyone, you agree not to misuse it. In particular, you must not:

  • Send automated or mass requests using bots, scripts or scrapers
  • Try to overload, disrupt, hack or get around the security of the site
  • Use the service to break any law or to infringe someone else's rights
  • Resell, rent out or charge others for access to the service
  • Copy the site or present it as your own product
  • Download or share content you know you have no right to

No Affiliation With YouTube or Google

Y2mate is an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube and its logo are trademarks of their owner and are mentioned here only to describe what the tool works with.

Third-Party Content

Every video and song you can reach through Y2mate belongs to the people who created or own it. We do not check, review or control that content, and we are not responsible for what it contains.

The site also relies on outside services, such as Cloudflare for hosting and security and Google Analytics for anonymous visit statistics. Those services follow their own terms and policies.

Our Own Content and Design

The text, layout, design and code of Y2mate belong to us. You are welcome to use the site as intended, but please do not copy, republish or reuse our pages or design without permission.

No Warranty

Y2mate is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running well, but we cannot promise it will always be online, error-free or able to fetch every video.

Some videos may not work at all. This often includes private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or region-blocked videos, and live streams that are still running. With a playlist link, only the single video in the link is saved. Downloads may also be blocked inside in-app browsers, such as those in social media apps, so opening the page in Chrome or Safari usually helps.

Limitation of Liability

As far as the law allows, Y2mate and the people behind it are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using or not being able to use the site. This includes lost data, problems with your device, or claims caused by content you chose to download.

Some places do not allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes and Availability of the Service

We may change, pause or stop any part of Y2mate at any time, with or without notice. That can include adding or removing quality options, changing how the tool looks, or limiting access for anyone who breaks these terms.

Because the tool depends on how YouTube delivers its videos, changes on YouTube's side can affect what works here.

Copyright Complaints

We respect the rights of creators. If you own content and believe Y2mate is being used in a way that infringes your rights, send us the details through our Contact page and we will look into it quickly.

To help us act fast, please include:

  • Your name and how we can reach you
  • A description of the work you own
  • The YouTube link of the video concerned
  • A short statement that you are the owner or are allowed to act for the owner

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the new version will appear on this page and takes effect as soon as it is posted. If you keep using Y2mate after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.

If you have any questions about these terms, just reach out through our Contact page and we will be happy to help.
