Can Y2mate download long videos?
Yes. Full lectures, concerts and hour-long podcasts work, with no length or size limit. Longer videos simply produce bigger files, so check the size shown next to each quality and make sure your device has room before you save.
Why won't a particular video work?
Private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or region-blocked videos may not load. Live streams that are still running can't be saved either. If it is a stream, wait until it ends and try the link again.
Does Y2mate work with YouTube Shorts?
It does. Copy the Short's link from the Share button and paste it into the box like any other video. Because Shorts are brief, even the 1080p file is usually small.
What happens if I paste a playlist link?
Only the single video that the link points to is saved, not the whole list. To keep several videos from a playlist, open each one and paste its link separately.
Can I download in 4K or 1440p?
No. Y2mate offers MP4 up to 1080p Full HD, which looks sharp on most laptops, monitors and TVs. Resolutions above 1080p are not available, even if the original video was uploaded in 4K.
Which MP3 bitrate should I choose?
For music, 256 or 320 kbps keeps more detail in the sound, especially on good headphones. For spoken content like interviews or lessons, 128 or even 64 kbps sounds clear and takes up far less space.
